di Mare sits on the limestone cliffs at Karma Kandara in Ungasan and looks straight out over the Indian Ocean. It has about 50 seats, and a recent refit in Amalfi-coast style added blue-and-white cushions, wooden tables and aquatic tiles. The restaurant serves breakfast, but lunch and dinner are fully Italian.
Start with a cast-iron focaccia topped as you like, then hamachi crudo or squid-ink lobster and crab arancini. The pastas come in two sizes and include tonnarelli carbonara with guanciale, rigatoni all'amatriciana and gnocchi with cuttlefish ragù. Pizzas use a 72-hour sourdough. For a group, the 1.4kg wagyu bistecca alla fiorentina is carved at the table. Lighter mains include Roman-style sea bass and Sicilian tuna.
It is best at sunset, so book a table by the railing. Karma operates as a members' club, but guest membership is free through the Karma app. Thursday evenings bring an all-you-can-eat pizza night, and Monday evenings are given over to paella. Open daily from breakfast until 10pm.
Hours and prices change, so please confirm with the restaurant before you go.
