il Mare is the Italian restaurant at Hotel Mulia Senayan, with an interior inspired by the 1920s and a golden olive tree at its centre. The kitchen cooks Northern Italian food, with pasta made by hand in-house and seafood that the hotel says is sourced daily from the Mediterranean. Private dining rooms are available.
For pasta, have the fettuccine al tartufo or spaghetti with lobster; for a main, the cotoletta alla Milanese or ossobuco with risotto. Tuna tartare, duck prosciutto, beef carpaccio and grilled octopus are good starters, and seabass baked in a parcel suits two. Finish with a classic tiramisù or an affogato.
Choose it for anniversaries, business dinners and special-occasion meals. Dinner runs nightly from 6pm, with last orders at 10.30pm, plus Saturday lunch and a Sunday brunch. A family-style 'La Famiglia' menu runs on Friday nights and Saturdays. Book online via Eat App or through the hotel's reservations team.
