Pippo occupies a corner of Senayan City's lower ground floor and is run by BIKO, the group behind Fujin and Pao Pao. The space has booth seating, a view into the open kitchen and a semi-outdoor area with rattan chairs that is the best spot for late-afternoon drinks. The menu leans on family-style recipes and imported Italian produce.
Start with a board of cold cuts and a glass of prosecco or a Bellini. Raviolini in brodo, fresh cheese-filled pasta in a light broth, is a good test of the kitchen, and the pansotti with truffle and mushroom sauce is a regular favourite. From the pizza list, the carbonara and the seafood with rocket are popular, and the seafood risotto and tiramisu round things off.
Pippo suits shoppers wanting a proper sit-down meal, after-work drinks and relaxed group dinners. It opens daily from 10am until midnight, there is a smoking area, and takeaway is available. Reservations are taken by phone.
