Rosso is the Italian restaurant on the lobby level of Shangri-La Jakarta, by the Sudirman business district. The red banquettes and patterned ceiling give it a warmer feel than most hotel dining rooms. The cellar holds more than 200 wines, and there is a lounge for cocktails before or after dinner. Chef de cuisine Paolo Cola, from Cesena in Emilia-Romagna, joined in 2025.
The live dish is risotto on the wheel, finished at the table with mixed and fried mushrooms. From the pasta list, try the linguine allo scoglio with a seafood bisque, the lobster ravioli or the pappardelle with hand-cut beef ragù. Mains include veal Milanese and a Rossini tenderloin with foie gras. The pizzas run from a simple margherita to mortadella with pistachio and burrata, and the porchetta tonnata is a good starter.
Rosso works well for business lunches and quieter celebrations. The three-course weekday set lunch costs Rp250,000++, and there is a Sunday brunch. Pork is on the menu. The dress code is smart casual.
