Pasta Pojok was opened in 2017 by Italian chef Gianluca Visciglia, who hails from Merate near Lake Como, and his Indonesian wife Sri Yatmi. The aim is simple: authentic, home-made Italian food at prices locals and travellers alike can afford.
Pasta is the star, especially the thicker hand-rolled shapes, and the seafood dishes and pizzas with well-made dough get plenty of praise. Finish with house gelato or one of the desserts. Around 30 per cent of ingredients are imported from Italy, and there are vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options.
It is a relaxed, friendly spot for couples, families and anyone staying along the Senggigi coast.
