Natalina, named after Frank Sinatra's mother, is a Cinnamon Group restaurant on the third floor of Avenue K on Jalan Ampang, a short walk from KLCC. Head chef Stefano Maria La Penna, who trained at Niko Romito's academy in Abruzzo, cooks Roman-rooted Italian food with a modern touch. The restaurant is pork-free and states that all its meat suppliers are halal-certified, though alcohol is served.
Pasta is made in-house: try the vertical-layer wagyu lasagna, gricia with smoked duck bacon and black truffle, or chitarrina with prawns, clams and lobster. Antipasti run from eggplant parmigiana to wagyu meatballs in arrabbiata, and the Josper grill turns out bone marrow, steaks and whole fish. Most pastas sit between RM60 and RM90.
The dining room is dressed with lemon trees, vintage photographs and green banquettes, and it is busy with families and groups at weekends. It works for a relaxed dinner before or after KLCC, and bookings can be made online.
