Cicheti takes its name from the small plates served in Venetian wine bars. It fills a three-storey shophouse on Kandahar Street in Kampong Glam, with a rustic trattoria interior and an all-local kitchen team. It is the original restaurant of The Cicheti Group, run by restaurateur Liling Ong.
The wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas are the main reason to come: try the Margherita con bufala, the spicy 'Nduja di Spilinga or the Romana with burratina and anchovies. Among the pastas, the beef cheek agnolotti, lamb shoulder tagliatelle and crab tonnarelli nero are reliable picks. The arancini make a good start, and the gluten-free tiramisu or pistachio cannoli a good finish. The wine list runs to about 40 Italian labels, including lesser-known grapes such as Freisa and Ribolla Gialla.
It is open daily for lunch and dinner and suits dates and small groups. The upper floors can be booked for private events. Bar Cicheti on Jiak Chuan Road, the group's pasta bar, closed in October 2025. Its sister restaurant Casa Cicheti is in Tiong Bahru.
