La Bottega Enoteca is a neighbourhood wine bar and kitchen on Joo Chiat Road, run by chef-owner Antonio Miscellaneo, whose pizzas have earned the restaurant a place on the 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific list. The kitchen cures its own meats and makes its own pasta, which sets it apart from many Italian spots in town.
Order a board of salumi with a bottle from the Italian-led list, then try the mortadella pizza from the wood-fired oven, grilled baby squid and pappardelle with duck ragu. Finish with seadas, the Sardinian fried pastry with honey.
The ivy-draped garden with vintage iron benches is one of the prettiest al fresco corners in the east, making this a lovely choice for a relaxed date or catch-up. Bookings are taken by email or WhatsApp.
