Bella Pasta has been on the Riverside View stretch of Robertson Quay for around 15 years, a sister to the Bella Pizza pizzeria. The room is small and comfortable, with a handful of riverside tables outside. Pasta is made fresh every day and the menu sticks to traditional recipes rather than local adaptations.
Order pasta first: linguine with prawns, pappardelle with mushrooms and Italian sausage, crab in squid-ink pasta and stuffed ravioli all have regular fans. Burrata pugliese makes a good shared starter, and the capricciosa pizza covers the table if you want more. For something bigger, there is a tomahawk steak, and older favourites such as ossobuco with polenta and porcini risotto show the kitchen's classic leanings.
A sensible pick for a weeknight dinner for two or a relaxed family meal on the river. A set lunch runs on weekdays, and the kitchen stays open through the afternoon at weekends. Reservations go through Chope.
