IL CLAY opened at Clarke Quay in 2024 under Neapolitan pizzaiolo Ciro Sorrentino, who placed 12th in the 2026 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific ranking. The dining room faces the river, with seating inside and out. Behind the wood-fired oven, a door leads to Behind Clay, a 52-seat lounge where Ciro's pizza meets Chef Yip's modern Chinese cooking and cocktails.
Dough is proofed for 48 hours and baked in the wood-fired oven. The Regina Margherita shows the crust at its simplest, and the six-cheese pizza with honey is the richer pick. Beyond pizza, the lobster ravioli is the most praised plate, alongside Sicilian stuffed squid, Mediterranean small plates and skewers from the fire. The flambéed bombe Alaska is a theatrical finish.
Good for a late pizza with friends or a date, especially on Fridays and Saturdays when it stays open until 1am. Weekdays start at 5pm, with lunch at weekends. Prices are on the higher side for pizza. Book through the website.
