Luca Cinì opened his namesake restaurant at Boat Avenue, the shopping and dining strip at Bang Tao, in 2014. He is an Italian sommelier and wine trader, and the place is part trattoria, part wine shop and part deli: one wall is stacked with bottles arranged by region, from Toscana and Sicilia to Sardegna and Veneto, and a counter sells imported cold cuts and cheeses.
Chef Bruna runs the kitchen, and pasta is made fresh every day. Look for rigatoni all'amatriciana, lasagne with slow-cooked ragù, handmade gnocchi, carbonara and seafood tagliatelle, with melanzane alla parmigiana among the starters. Mains are around 590 baht.
It is a small, informal room of about 60 seats, air-conditioned inside with a terrace and bar stools for a glass of wine and a plate of antipasti. Ask Luca for a bottle suggestion; the wine is the reason to come.
