Vero Trattoria & Wine Bar

Vero is the Italian restaurant at Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach, on the quiet north-west coast about 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport. It sits on the cliff edge above Naithon Beach, and the terrace looks straight out over the Andaman Sea, which makes it one of the island's better spots for a sunset dinner.

The concept is a relaxed modern trattoria: wooden floors, warm lighting and an open kitchen, plus an air-conditioned dining room for the hottest months. The menu covers antipasti and sharing boards of Italian cured meats, fresh pasta, pizzas and fish and meat mains, with local seafood given a Mediterranean treatment. A resident sommelier looks after the wine list, and there is a Sunday brunch served to the table.

It suits a romantic dinner or a special-occasion meal if you are staying in the north of the island. Booking ahead for a terrace table at sunset is recommended.
