L'Osteria Pizza e Cucina

L'Osteria Pizza e Cucina has grown into one of Bali's biggest Italian groups, and its Canggu branch sits on Jalan Pemelisan Agung in Berawa. The space is styled as a relaxed Italian hideaway, open from noon until late, and it draws a mix of families, friends and couples for long dinners.

Pizzas are Neapolitan in style, made with sourdough starter: the diavola, crudo di Parma and a burrata pizza with confit cherry tomatoes are the ones to know. Fresh pasta is made with 12 whole eggs per kilo of flour. Tonnarelli cacio e pepe is finished at the table when the chef is available, and lobster ravioli, duck ragu tagliatelle and lasagna bolognese are strong too. Vitello tonnato, caponata and burrata make good starters.

It is a dependable choice for families and mixed groups, with non-pork swaps on several dishes and gluten-free pasta. Prices are moderate. L'Osteria also has branches in Seminyak, Uluwatu (Pecatu), Ubud (Monkey Forest Road), Sanur and Jimbaran.
