About

Numero Quattro comes from Project: Black, the group behind The Lawn and Skool Kitchen, and opened at Echo Beach in late 2023. Sydney chef Joel Bennetts set the menu as the group's culinary creative director. The room has wood-panelled walls, white tablecloths and a record player at the bar, and it calls itself a neighbourhood pasta and grill restaurant.

Pasta is made in house. The prawn spaghetti with Calabrian chilli and garlic is Bennetts's own pick, and the oxtail lasagne with stracciatella, the maltagliati with short rib and sausage ragu and the spicy gin rigatoni with burrata are popular. From the grill, try the charcoal white fish with shio kombu butter or the pork chop cotoletta. Start with focaccia, vitello tonnato or the yellowfin tuna.

It suits groups and couples after a lively dinner near the beach, with five Negroni variations and Italian-leaning cocktails at the bar. It opens for dinner on weekdays and from midday at weekends. Book online through the Project: Black site or message on WhatsApp.
