Forketta occupies a garden plot on Jalan Danau Tamblingan, with tables set around a traditional joglo pavilion and plenty of outdoor space. The Italian-run restaurant aims for a relaxed, home-like feel, with live music in the evenings and room for children to move about.
Pizzas are Roman-style and baked in a wood-fired oven; the Amalfi is a good place to start. Pasta is made by hand, from a straightforward spaghetti aglio, olio e peperoncino to gnocchi al pesto, seafood spaghetti and lamb ragù. For a main, La Porchetta di Forketta is slow-braised pork belly. Burrata salad, tiramisu and gelato round things out, and gluten-free pasta and pizza bases are available.
A good fit for families, with a kids' menu, parking and a dog-friendly garden. Prices are moderate, with lunch-for-two and happy-hour offers. Open daily from 10am to 10:30pm; book by WhatsApp, which also handles free delivery within Sanur.
