Italian Eat Where

Nusa Dua & Sanur

Nusa Dua and Sanur are Bali's quieter, more family-focused resort areas, and their Italian restaurants reflect that: long-running neighbourhood favourites in Sanur, and resort dining rooms and small Italian-run kitchens around Nusa Dua.

In Sanur, Massimo has been cooking Salento-style food since 1996 and is as well known for its gelato counter as its pasta, while Forketta serves wood-fired Roman-style pizza in a garden with a joglo pavilion and live music. In Nusa Dua, Prego at The Westin has an Italian chef, handmade pasta and a monthly Sunday brunch, Piasan at Kayumanis is a quiet glass-and-bamboo dining room suited to couples, and Ganzo on the main road is a small Italian-run kitchen that makes its pasta and desserts in-house.

These are calm, easy places to eat with children or after a day at the beach. Sanur restaurants tend to close earlier than in Seminyak or Canggu, so check the hours on each listing.
