Amici is the Bali outpost of Enrico Bartolini, the Tuscan-born chef whose restaurants hold more than a dozen Michelin stars in Italy. Head Chef Alessandro D'Amico runs the kitchen day to day on Jalan Petitenget, in a calm, elegant space with a sunny terrace for lunch and a cosier dining room for dinner. It has a Gambero Rosso 'Top Italian Restaurant' listing and a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.
Pasta is made fresh daily and bronze-cut in house. The ravioli al tovagliolo, a sauce-less Piedmontese ravioli eaten by hand, is the signature, alongside crab ravioli, carbonara di mare with prawn and tuna tartare, and lobster tagliatelle. Starters include vitello tonnato and grilled octopus, pizzas run from margherita to mortadella with pistachio, and the grill covers wagyu cuts and whole fish baked al cartoccio.
