Casa Blanca opened in 2021, the project of a young Italian couple, Leonardo and Silvia. It occupies a multi-storey baroque-style building on Jalan Kayu Aya in the Oberoi end of Seminyak, and bills itself as a modern Italian restaurant and grill, with a bar that hosts live music on some nights.
The pasta is made in house: try the ricotta and spinach tortelli with butter and sage, the gnocchi al pesto, tagliatelle with beef ragù, or the ravioli filled with prawns and burrata. Starters include burrata with tomatoes, parmigiana di melanzane and polpette made with beef and pork. From the grill there are rib eye, wagyu tenderloin and king prawns, and the pizzas include a sausage and mushroom version with mascarpone. Finish with tiramisù made with homemade ladyfingers.
It suits a dinner with friends or a relaxed date, and the cocktail list makes it easy to stay on. Doors open at 2pm daily and the kitchen runs late; smart-casual dress is asked for. Booking is through Chope or WhatsApp.
