Rustica is an old-school family Italian on the Batu Belig side of Seminyak, with a nonna, Mamma Luigina, in charge of the pasta. From the street it looks plain, but the dining room is large and there's plenty of parking. It opens from breakfast until late.
Start by choosing a pasta shape – cavatelli, trofie, orecchiette, tagliatelle, gnocchi – and pair it with one of around twenty sauces. The house tricolour pappardelle alla Luigina and the beef-filled tortellini with gorgonzola are worth ordering. The wood-fired oven turns out more than thirty pizzas, including Pizza Mamma Luigina with gorgonzola and mortadella. For mains, try polpettine, pork chops or grilled Italian sausages, and finish with the homemade tiramisu.
It suits families and anyone who wants generous, honest Italian food without resort prices. Gluten-free pasta and pizza are available for a small surcharge, and there's a short kids' menu. Book online or on WhatsApp.
