Settimo Cielo

Settimo Cielo – Italian for 'seventh heaven' – sits at the entrance of The Layar Designer Villas & Spa on Jalan Pangkung Sari. The room pairs concrete-block walls with Italian marble and a glass roof, so the space feels open even when it rains. It runs from breakfast through to a late dinner.

Dinner is where the kitchen shows off. The goat cheese ricotta tortelloni with toasted almonds and sage is the dish regulars name first, followed by agnello al forno (parmesan-crusted lamb leg with lentils), roasted barramundi with caper berries and olives, cuttlefish black ink risotto and a cotoletta alla milanese. Finish with the 'Seventh Heaven' dessert tasting plate.

It suits couples, business lunches and anyone staying in a Seminyak villa who wants a calm, grown-up room. At lunch, the all-you-can-graze menu works well for a long afternoon with wine.
