Oma Elly began in 2018 as lasagne deliveries from chef Andry Susanto's apartment, cooked to the recipes of his late grandmother Elly, who came from Livorno in Tuscany. It grew into a reservation-only private dining room and then into a string of trattorias; the Kota Kasablanka branch sits in the mall's Food Society area, decorated with family photographs in a homely trattoria style.
Lasagne is the dish the brand was built on and comes in larger sizes for sharing. The seafood fagottino in bisque is the most popular pasta, the truffle pizza comes from a wood-fired oven, and the signature tiramisu is sold in individual and sharing sizes. Pestos, bolognese and roast beef also come from the family repertoire.
It suits families and groups who want generous, comforting food at mall prices, and it opens at 9am on Sundays. Other Jakarta branches include Senayan City and Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK), with more outlets around Greater Jakarta.
