il Cielo sits on the 24th floor of voco Orchard Singapore, the former Hilton, beside the hotel's rooftop pool. The room is small and bright, with an indoor section and an outdoor area that opens onto the pool deck and the Orchard Road skyline. The kitchen cooks Italian comfort food, with pasta made in-house and a separate run of gourmet pizzas.

Start with the Burrata Campana with pine nut pesto and semi-dried tomatoes, or the Amalfi-style fried calamari with soft-shell crab and prawns. Rigatoni with a slow-cooked Genovese beef ragù and the squid-ink tagliolini topped with Sicilian red prawn tartare are the pastas to try. For a main, the Filetto alla Rossini pairs Angus tenderloin with seared foie gras. Finish with the classic tiramisu.

It suits a sunset dinner for two or a small celebration; a private room seats 12. A two-course set lunch starts at S$28++, and rooftop social hours (5pm-7pm) offer wine and beer at S$10 nett. Open Tuesday to Saturday only, and payment is cashless.
