Orchard Road, Scotts Road and the green enclave of Dempsey Hill hold some of Singapore's most polished Italian restaurants, from a Michelin-starred bungalow to celebrity-chef dining rooms and long-running hotel favourites.

Buona Terra on Scotts Road holds a Michelin star for its seasonal Northern Italian set menus. Osteria Mozza at ION Orchard, from Nancy Silverton, and Torno Subito at Dempsey, created with Massimo Bottura, are both in the Michelin Guide. Da Paolo's Dempsey flagship is a relaxed all-day restaurant and bar, Waterfall at Shangri-La cooks Puglian-leaning food by the pool, Basilico at Conrad runs an Italian buffet with a dedicated cheese room, and il Cielo on the 24th floor of voco Orchard has city views. LaPasta and LINO are easy, good-value choices for a shopping break.

Dempsey is best reached by car or taxi, while the Orchard restaurants are close to the MRT. Weekend brunch and lunch are popular at the hotel restaurants, so book ahead.
